Rice's Prior Legal Issues

Rice was absent for the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left multiple people injured. He was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

On the field, Rice concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
