Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A representative for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was made after an review of reports of questionable actions towards female individuals.

The publisher has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
